AMAZING GADGETS YOU WOULD WISH YOU HAD (With Pictures)

AMAZING GADGETS YOU WOULD WISH YOU HAD (With Pictures)

October 4, 2024

So let’s face it, many of us would probably never see these this year or even next year except these devices enter the mass market. However, feast your eyes and ooh and aah as I take you into the new world of Internet of Things(IoT). These gadgets are futuristic and amazing consumer gadgets with functionalities that would literally blow your mind. Some of these are not exactly new but improved versions of older prototypes but all are amazing!

Early this year, the renowned Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 showcased amazing technology from health-focused wearables, drones, 3D printers to AR/VR headsets. There was even UberCHOPPER taking views from 1000 feet off the ground!

The unveiling of all these tech products was overwhelming, however here are my personal favorites from CES 2016. Enjoy!!

1.      Samsung’s Smart Fridge

samsungThis fridge is almost too good to be true. Imagine being able to set reminders on expiry dates, know when you are running low on groceries like butter, eggs, milk (not powdered please!). It would prepare the shopping list and send to your phone. It has a built-in camera and you can look into your fridge in real-time from everywhere! It can even defrost certain parts of your freezer so your chicken or beef is ready to cook. After all, is said you still need power (sighs).

2.      LG Rollable OLED

LG rollIf I had to pick one piece of tech at the show that really makes me think “we are living in the future!” It is LG’s Rollable OLED, which does exactly what it says. It’s a screen that you can roll-up. This futuristic device is bound to transform the design and function of everything that has a screen — and these days, everything has a screen!

3.      TAG Heuer Connected Android Wear smartwatch

TAG Heuer is known for making luxury Swiss watches out of the finest materials. The Connected then is something tagof a departure — it’s an all-digital android wear-based smartwatch. Say it again? I said it is an all-digital android wear-based smartwatch! Beautiful is too tame a word for this classic and stylish looking smartwatch. It’s still made from premium titanium and comes with a fancy name, but it’ll show you notifications from your phone, as well as connect with a wide variety of apps. Quite pricey but style usually is! The good thing is it doesn’t look like the other smartwatches for Apple, Samsung and the others.

4.      Amazon Echo

echo zonThis is one device that was surely named wrongly! It should be called “Efiritin-Join”. This amazing device can do ANYTHING in a ‘connected’ home. It controls the entire home! It can wake you up, set your coffee machine, read you the news dailies, remind you of your calendar, switch off lights, set your alarm when you leave, you name it, “Efiritin-Join” can do it. Amazing!

5.      Noke

Noke is the world’s first bluetooth-enabled padlock. It protects your property and belongings without the hassle nokskof keys or combinations. You can also share access with others via the Noke app with the tap of a button.

Here is where I go “wonders shall never end” with the full effect of shaking my head and clapping my hands.

6.      Samsung’s 105-inch UN105S9B is the World’s first and largest bendable SUHD TV.

No Gadget post would ever be complete without a TV. One of the most common electronics in all Nigerian homes. Living room, dining area, bedrooms and even kitchens have one form of TV or another. So allow me in my deepest baritone voice… “Introducing the Samsung 105-inch UN105S9B, the World’s First and Largest Bendable SUHD TV.”

105 inch

With a 21:9 aspect ratio, true-to-life color expression and high contrast, this groundbreaking model sets a new bar for the cinematic viewing experience at home. I can’t wait for football time, OMG!

7.      Sengled

So we watch all these movies with sleek futuristic homes, where even the lights can change to suit your mood or the occasion. Sengled aims to use smart light bulbs to transform your home into a connected home.

snapledThe company sells a range of light bulbs with varying functionalities. The Snap light bulb, for example, has a wireless HD camera so that you can attach it to your porch or garage for outdoor monitoring. Video can be reviewed instantly or stored in the cloud.

The Boost bulb, another smart bulb, provides WiFi in addition to LED light, so you can add connectivity to internet dead zones within the house. The Voice bulb responds to your voice, notes your appointments, and sends you reminders. You can also use Voice to send alerts if it records sounds such as a smoke alarm or crying baby.

8.      Klaxoon

Klaxoon aims to provide a new means of communications for groups of people, specifically those in the workplace. The cross-platform tool works on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices.klaxoon

The startup aims to use mobile devices to make group communications more interactive. Based on content, users can propose activities to boost engagement, including surveys, challenges, brainstorming sessions, quizzes, or live messaging. If someone is giving an educational presentation, for example, he or she can launch a survey to determine how many people understood the content.

The Klaxoon box stores the presentations and activities for you and up to 40 participants. This way you can access group content remotely without the need for an internet connection. With Klaxoon cloud, up to 1,000 participants can connect to a single session.

9.      Earin

The Earin headphones really looks like the traditional earbud; they look like your standard in-ear pair with the cords earincut off. The design is really simple, clean and they look like someone put a lot of thought into it. The tiny buds fit fine from reviews and the memory-foam like material that they’re made of (similar to Kanoa), expanded to fit your ear and blocked out a considerable amount of ambient noise. And to help keep it safe and prevent you from losing it since it’s so small, these smart inventors have created a small pen-like device that charges the headphones and stores as well. Amazing!

10.     DJI Phantom 4

dji phantomDrones everywhere! These days drones are used for so many things, from e-commerce companies using it to deliver a product to photographer’s using them at weddings. I really would not be doing any justice without featuring this amazing device. All the tech-critics score it the best in the market and for very good reasons too. This polished drone makes flying less complicated and fun they say. Be sure not to crash it, and take amazing pictures and videos.

11.      GoSun Stove

stoveIt is almost as if the inventors of this grill know the problem of Nigeria! This is a solar powered grill. It uses its unique design and directs sunlight towards a cylinder, which they says can heat up to 550 degrees in some models in 10 to 20 minutes. The food cooks inside a solar evacuated tube that absorbs more than 80% of the sunlight reflected onto the tube.

In Nigeria with the HOT sun, this product gets a pass mark. Immediate supply please, summer starts early!

12.      Connected coffee machine

Coffee lovers this one is for you! Get the freshest coffee every single time. coffee connectsThis remarkable coffee machine not only roasts and toasts your coffee to perfection, it also connects you directly to the coffee farmers. It has a sim embedded so you can set coffee breaks ad sync to your google calendar, share with friends, etc.

Please where are the Nigerian coffee bean farmers? This product is calling out your name.

Thank you for going through these amazing home solutions. Kindly share your thoughts and current tech trends/solutions that have made you speechless.
